Files not accessible [message #1118]

I noticed some files like .rar and .zip are no longer accessible from the server. Is this related to those dumbs uploading Leopard warez stuff to their blog?

I got some real difficults with development project atm. :-/

Haven't got a notice about it yet. Thanks in advance!

A seconnd note. I got spam attacked tonight from the same russian for commenting the ongoing trouble, is there any possibility to stop certain IPs from posting comments?

Things are realyl worse at the moment :-( Already thought about quitting the opensource development.

The announcement was made here:

And yes, it started with the "dumbheads" putting warez on freeflux (not only leopard stuff), but mainly, we don't have the resources to check each and every uploaded file for "legalness". Therefore we disabled it in general.

*Nevertheless* I now enabled the downloads for your blog again, for the time being at least. But as we don't have unlimited bandwidth available, we may disable them again if it's getting busy (currently, you're producing between 0.5 and 2GB traffic a day). So maybe you better look out for mirrors already Smile

There isn't a possibility from your side, but we can block them on the iptables level (but we're not always around Smile

)

Maybe we will add this feature some day, but IP level blocking is usually quite worthless (at least against the more traditional spammers)

I will move the files of so traffic will get much lower, will take some days since I just got sponsored a dedicated server in .my by someone from .ae ;-)

Thanks to the great service, as far as I got my donations for the new development hardware I will doante some bucks to your service.

this is the spammers ip, it'S static so I would be happy if you could take care of it: 195.225.129.199

It's already listed at spamhouse ... :-/ freaks
